Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University
Established as a partnership between Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is a five-year medical school program dedicated to training physician investigators. The curriculum centers on problem-based learning, with no formal lectures or class rankings. Students aren’t given grades but, rather, are assessed, and self-assess, using a portfolio-based system.
Graduate Medical Education
One of the largest training programs in the country, Cleveland Clinic’s Graduate Medical Education program offers residents and fellows the chance to see rare and complex cases in addition to routine medical problems. Our trainees engage in leading-edge research in basic sciences, clinical medicine and biomedical engineering alongside our scientists and clinical faculty.
Health Professions Education
Caregivers within the health professions comprise a large part of Cleveland Clinic’s workforce, having skills that are essential to patient care. Health professions jobs range from physician assistant and physical therapist to medical laboratory technician and histotechnologist. We sponsor internal training programs and offer clinical rotations for health professions students enrolled in training programs outside of Cleveland Clinic.

Center for Educational Resources
Faculty in this center support and train internal colleagues who have a teaching role at Cleveland Clinic, including those involved in teaching within our Lerner College of Medicine and residency and fellowship programs. They ensure that our educators know how to develop a curriculum, how to assess learners and how to evaluate educational programs. The center also offers a fellowship opportunity to advance the skills of our educators and a post-doctoral fellowship for a PhD educator.
Youth and College Education
The Center for Youth and College Education (CYCE) provides educational experiences and career exploration opportunities to K-12 youth and college students. By offering meaningful real-world experiences to learners, we hope to prepare the next generation of caregivers to join the healthcare workforce.
