About Health Professions Education
Allied Health Professionals are healthcare providers with a formal education and clinical training. They collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare system to detect, identify and prevent diseases and to provide therapeutic services to patients of all ages.
There are nearly 100 unique jobs in the health professions. Some, such as radiologic technologists, physical therapists, and surgical technologists, have a lot of patient contact. Others are more technology-based and focus on behind-the-scenes work in laboratories or in health information management.
